| I. Two Towers of Babel That Reach to the Heavens-CERN and FAST |
There are other
towers being built that literally like Babel are being built to connect to the
heavens,
CERN has got some evangelical writers abuzz who are teaching that CERN is going into the abyss and letting out all kinds of demons and that there has even been changes to the Bible, which is not possible.
CERN is a European research organization that operates the
largest particle physics laboratory in the world. CERN is also the birthplace of the World
Wide Web.
The acronym CERN are the French words for European Council for Nuclear Research.
It was established by 12 European governments in 1952. Several
important achievements in particle physics have been made through experiments
at CERN.
CERN operates a network of six accelerators and a
decelerator. Each machine in the chain increases the energy of particle beams
before delivering them to experiments or to the next more powerful accelerator.
CERN particularly gained notoriety with the Large Hadron Collider, which
represents a large-scale, worldwide scientific cooperation project.
The LHC tunnel is located 100 meters underground, in the
region between the Geneva International Airport and
the nearby Jura
Mountains.
From their own website it states that
their “physicists and engineers
are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. They use the world's
largest and most complex scientific instruments to study the basic constituents
of matter – the fundamental particles. The particles are made to collide
together at close to the speed of light. The process gives the physicists clues about
how the particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of
nature.”
It should
be noted that their work is based on theories and especially the big-bang theory. With their discovery in 2012 of the Higgs boson
particle one of the two fundamental particles, proving how particles gain mass.
They believe a Higg’s field is all around us and that bosons carry particles.
One journalist commented that the discovery disproves God, but the journalist
was uninformed because the particle does not disprove God.
Evangelicals
believe that the black holes, which are also not proven sound like the abyss
spoken of in the Bible and that at CERN they have accessed the key to the abyss.
First and foremost we do not know if
this is the abyss, or the bottomless pit and only the angel with the key
mentioned in the Revelation has the key.
Can there be a crossover into that world? More on that in the next and chapter “Parallel

China’s Radio Telescope is another Tower
of Babel venture. The Chinese Academy of Sciences
Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Telescope (FAST) scans the skies. First
proposed in 1994, the project was green-lighted by the Chinese government in
2007, construction began in 2011 and was completed in July of 2016. With a dish 500 m
across, comprising of 4450 reflecting panels,
it is the largest filled-in, single-dish radio telescope in the world.
Its area is equal to 30 soccer fields. A Nimitz-class aircraft carrier could
easily float in the 500 meter dish from bow to stern, with room to spare.
FAST probes the universe at radio wavelengths, hunting for
faint pulsars, mapping neutral hydrogen in distant galaxies, and searching for
signs of extraterrestrial communications and intelligence.
Shortly after it began functioning, FAST made its first
observation of a pulsar 1,351 light-years away this past month. FAST like the
ancient Tower of Babel builders aspired has literally build a tower that can
reach toward the heavens. Will they find anything? Only the demonic activity that their machine
might invite especially as we get closer to the end.
