I. Mass Betrayals Against Those Who Refuse to Take The Mark of the Beast |
As the believers run for
the hills and go underground and achieve some success in hiding, a weapon in the Antichrist’s arsenal will be
the people who know them, turning them in.
Daniel 11:32 states:
Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but
the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.
The word for flattery in the
Hebrew means fine promises, which indicates that the Antichrist will offer some
kind of a reward. We see in the verses
below that family members betray family members to death. Daniel 11:30 states…So
he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant.”
Mark 13:12 tells us:
Now brother will betray
brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to
be put to death.
Matthew 10:21 states:
Now brother will deliver up
brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to
be put to death.
Luke 12:53 adds:
Father will be divided against
son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against
mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against
her mother-in-law.
Matthew 24:9-13 describes:
Then they will deliver
you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My
name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will
hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And
because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold. But he who
endures to the end will be saved.
Jesus points to the
sinful climate of the times with, “And because lawlessness will abound the love
of many will grow cold.” Which aligns with the brutality and lawlessness of the
end times described in 2 Timothy 3:1-6, which we are already seeing.
It is not uncommon to
hear in the radical Islamic world of a father killing his daughter, and
brothers killing their sister and even turning against their mothers. In poor countries in South America mothers
sell their daughters to sex slavery to pay off debt and here in America,
mothers give their daughters over to drug dealers to be used sexually for drugs
and give them over to their stepfathers for abuse. All of these are symptoms of
the end times in which we live and are beginning to mirror the mass betrayals
that Jesus describes, only at that time, sin will be at its height and the
betrayals more numerous and shocking than today.
